We still aren't completely done but here is a peak at the nursery so far. Window treatments, a few more wall hangings and a little table next to the glider are yet to come but we are happy with the progress. My mom and Aunt Angie made all of the adorable bedding and my mom made the quilt and blanket. She is also making the window treatments. I couldn't have found anything cuter in a store. I absolutely love it and am so grateful for all of their help! I hope he likes it and sleeps really well in it! I'll post more pics when we get all of the little details finished.

I'm a drug addict!
This new medication I'm on seriously makes me feel like I'm shooting heroin (don't worry Mom, I don't know what that actually feels like). But, I can imagine this is what it must feel like to be on drugs. After taking it I get really shaky, my voice quivers, my mouth gets dry and I just plain feel weird. Needless to say, I don't love taking it! On a positive note it does really help to take the contractions away. 15 minutes after I take it, the contractions are gone and don't return for about 6-7 hours. I've read that after a couple of weeks your body starts to adjust to it and the side effects lessen so I'm waiting for that day!
I hit the 31 week mark yesterday...woohoo. I feel like time has been flying by but I think the next 6 weeks are really going to drag. We are almost done with the nursery (I promise I'll post pics of soon but I want to post the finished product) and it is so darling. I'm thrilled with it and I can't wait to put baby J in his gorgeous crib. I have 2 showers coming up on the 4th and the 11th which are going to be a blast and then it is just waiting time until he arrives.
The Dr. appt went well this week again. Fluid is at a 26 and baby looks great. I am getting more and more uncomfortable as the fluid gets higher and Jackson gets bigger but the aches and pains are worth it. If I could only sleep for more than 2 hours before getting up to go to the bathroom that would be great (I know, I know, it's preparing me for life with an infant).
We had a fun filled weekend last weekend of replacing our hot water heater that was old and leaking. I made 4 batches of cookies to freeze for no reason and did some cleaning...nesting a little? This weekend is more of the same but I do hope to get all the finishing touches done in the nursery so I can post the big unveiling!!!

My Little Leprechaun
The little leprechaun in utero is doing great. We had yet another appt today. The fluid is up to 24 so it's still gradually making a comeback but it's happening slowly and my cervix is still holding strong. Looks like we will have a few more weeks before reducing the fluid again. The Advil I've been taking around the clock for the constant contractions is beginning to affect Jackson a bit so I've been taken off of it and given a prescription for Terbutaline. This is the same drug I was given in injectable form at the hospital when I went in for contractions last month. The injection made me super shaky and made my heart race but the oral form is supposed to have less side effects. I'm hoping it helps. The contractions seem to be getting stronger and although they still don't hurt they really take my breath away sometimes.
This month the little guy is supposed to be the size of a squash and weigh between 2.5-3.8 pounds. Last week Jackson was already weighing about 3.1 pounds so he is obviously about 3 weeks ahead but we'll pretend he is about this size...Today was Jimmy's real birthday. His grandparents came over and brought corned beef and cabbage with them. It was really nice of them to bring us dinner and it was fun to have a good chat with them. Now we are going to watch AI...lol, no green beer or pub crawls for us. Happy 30th honey!

Middle age is when you still believe you'll feel better in the morning!
This pretty much sums up Jimmy's day on Sunday! We had a great time at his 30th b day party. Thanks everyone for coming and celebrating with us. I think the pics will do a better job of explaining the evening than my words so here you go...

Birthdays!!!
Wow, we are getting old!! I celebrated my 27th B-day yesterday and it was a great day! My amazing mother surprised me driving up from Portland in the snowstorm. When I got home from work she had a sign on the door that said "do not enter...merry maid at work!" She had gotten up early, driven in the snow and been at our house cleaning it for hours!! It was really in need of a deep clean. She also brought dinner up with her and if that wasn't enough she brought me a new fantastic black Coach purse. I'm such a lucky girl. It was such a great surprise and it was so fun to have her here. What a treat! My brother and his fiance came over for dinner and we had a nice evening. Thanks Mom, you're the best!!!! J & I both so appreciate all that you and Dad do for us.
Jimmy's big 3-0 is next Tuesday and his party is this Sat. I'll update with pics after the weekend, it should be a great time with all of his friends and family.
We had another big u/s this am that went really well. My mom got to go with us and see little Jackson. He was moving around like crazy and he is such a big boy. He is now measuring in the 70th percentile (down from 90th) and he is weighing about 3lbs1oz. He has fattened up since last time and he already has fat rolls! He has huge cheeks and he is a splitting image of his Dad. Check out this pic I found of J compared to Jackson, honestly I think he is going to look exactly like his father. He is so stinkin cute already!
I had to share these cute pics of Jimmy too...I hope Jackson is as cute as he was! So far Jack is still looking great, still nothing popping out on the u/s. My fluid is up to 22cm (19cm last week). It's still gaining about 3cm/week. Looks like we will be reducing again in a few weeks. My cervix is still holding strong and the contractions are still constant but not doing anything to change the situation. We are feeling pretty good about things right now. With another reduction the Dr. thinks I can make it to full term or close to it. Jackson looks perfect and if there is some kind of an issue we are feeling like it will be somewhat minor. Also now that I am about 29 weeks and he is so much bigger we are out of the danger zone. If something were to happen and I was to go into labor early we could all cope a lot better now.
Here are a few belly pics from today at 28 weeks 6 days. We are getting closer and more anxious to meet this little guy every day!!

75 years young!
This weekend I went down to Portland for my Grandma's 75th birthday party. We had a nice luncheon with all of the ladies in my family. It was very fun to see everyone and I think my Grandma had a great time. Happy 75th Birthday Grandma! I can't wait for you to meet your 1st great grandchild!
I have been having some serious contractions lately. Last night I counted over 24 in two hours. They were coming every 5-10 minutes for hours. Of course I was worried but at my appt today I've thankfully had no change to my cervix. Therefore these contractions aren't doing anything harmful to my body. The Dr. has no idea why I am having so many but as long as they aren't shortening or dilating my cervix than I'm not worried. I am supposed to take 3 advil 3 times/day which should help tame my "irritable uterus" and of course I will continue to be monitored weekly to make sure there are no cervical changes. My fluid today also still looked good. It has gone up to 19. Before it was drained it was 31, right after is was drained it was 13 and last week it was 16. Therefore it is building but it's coming back relatively slowly. If it continues at this pace I shouldn't need to get it drained again until around the end of March when I am about 32 weeks. It would be nice if we could wait that long. Jackson is still looking great. We have another big growth u/s next week but so far they haven't been able to see any abnormalities in the GI tract or bowel via u/s.
J was a busy bee this weekend working on the nursery. All of the furniture is put together and he put in new molding. I will be getting the bedding and all of the decorations up in the next few weeks. I'll wait and post pics of the finished product but so far it is darling. I absolutely love it!
